Planet Bar is Edinburghs longest running gay bar. Planet is renowned for its friendly crowd, fun staff, low-price premium drinks, and entertainment. Drag DJs ramp it up on Friday and Saturday nights. For special occasion events you can novel the side bar or a booth.
Showtime Fridays bring you amazing local and international Drag Queens every week. Past line-ups have included RuPaul winner The Vivienne and finalist Baga Chipz, as successfully as the legendary Miss DQ. We also host karaoke, retro nights, Bingo and quizzes. Planet Bar is know in Edinburgh for its involvement in local LGBT issues and campaigns. We grip events for World Aids Day and a number of charities.
We are arrogant sponsors of the Hot Scots, Scotlands first LGBT football team. The Hot Scots compete in the GFSN National League and Cup, as well as local and international tournaments. They would love to hear from anyone who would love to take part.

Edinburgh is a great city for LGBT+ people to visit. While Scotland for a prolonged time had a reputation as a quite socially conservative corner of Europe, attitudes have changed dramatically over the last forty years.
The International Lesbian and Gay Association last year ranked Scotland as having the second highest legal equality for LGBT+ people anywhere in Europe, higher than the rest of the UK.
Scotland is also a country with increasing representation of LGBT+ people, especially in politics – until recently 3 out of the 5 political parties in the Scottish Parliament had leaders who identified as LGBT+.
