Musk’s Grok Chatbot Fantasized About Breaking Into X User’s Abode and Raping Him
On Tuesday, Elon Musk&#;s Grok chatbot ran wild on X, posting antisemitic comments, praising Adolf Hitler, and eventually referring to itself as &#;MechaHitler&#; before its ability to respond to users on the platform was disabled. The incident — apparently the result of a system prompt to &#;not bashful away from making claims which are politically incorrect, so long as they are well substantiated” — was the most embarrassing yet for the AI model, developed by another Musk company, xAI (which is now the parent company of X). This is despite earlier episodes in which it randomly brought up the myth of &#;white genocide&#; and identified Musk as &#;one of the most significant spreaders of misinformation&#; on the site.

As a gay man with cerebral palsy whose life was dramatically changed by a major car accident, Ryan O&#;Connell&#;s story isn&#;t one that Hollywood tells very often, to say the least.
One in every four Americans has a disability yet, according to GLAAD’s Where We Are on TV &#; report, only % of primetime broadcast TV series regulars &#; a grand total of 18 characters &#; include disabilities. A recent Annenberg study set up that of those characters, 95% are played by actors who do not have disabilities.
O&#;Connell has taken matters into his own hands and created a show for himself to star in that centers on a character with a disability. &#;Special,&#; which launches on Netflix April 12, is comprised of eight minute episodes and has the potential to arrange a significant standard in disability representation.

There is considerable overlap between the disabled and LGBT+ communities and, in reality, according to a survey by the HRC Foundation, LGBTQ+ people are more likely to be disabled than non-LGBTQ+ people. In the United States, for example, 36% of LGBTQ+ people in general and 56% of transgender people are disabled and the correlation is even more pronounced in regards to mental illness and cognitive disability, which is more than twice as ordinary amongst LGBT+ people than their cisgender, heterosexual peers.
Given the relationship between tolerance and better mental health resources and outcomes, much of the overlap between the disabled and the LGBT+ communities could be explained by the effects of discrimination. Study from Charité in Berlin shows that a country’s acceptance of sexual minorities such as lesbian, gay, and bisexual people has an impact on suicide rates within the community, and that those in less tolerant countries are at a higher risk for suicide.
